He was born in Babaeski at October, 15, 1956. After completion of his primary and secondary school there, he was graduated from Kabataş High School (1973), Industrial Engineering Department of Bosphorus University (1979) and the Graduate School of the Concordia University, Montreal, Canada (Economics, 1983). He completed his Ph.D. in Bosphorus University (Economics, 1989). He became ‘Associate Professor’ in International Economics and Economic Development at October ,26, 1993. He received his Professorship in ‘Accounting and Finance’ at Trakya University. He worked at the Planning and Investments Department of Sabancı Holding. Then he worked at Emlakbank, Yaşarbank and EGS Bank as Assistant General Manager and Member of the Board of the Directors from 1983 to 1999. He also worked as Advisor to the Etibank . He established Türkiye-Kazakhstan International Bank in Alma-Ata, Banque du Bosphore in Paris, Express Trade Bank in Berlin and EGS Bank in Malta and worked as the Member and the Chairman of the Board in these banks. He was elected as the first Turkish banker and completed his two- year term as the Chairman of World Federation of Development Finance Institutions ( WFDFI ) and Association of Development Finance Institutions in the Member Countries of Islamic Development Bank (ADFIMI) from 1999 to 2001. He has five published books (Economic Stabilization Programs and its Application to the Turkish Economy, External Labor Migration and the Turkish Economy, International Financial Techniques, International Banking and Financial Systems and Stock Exchanges). He has numerous national and international papers and research projects. He worked as Assistant Rector of Trakya University (1999-2000) and he is acting as the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration from February,16,2001.
